DEFEAT POULSBO BOYS TEAM -- ILLNESS REQUIRES ABANDONING GIRLS GAME

     The Union high school boys basket ball team defeated the Poulsbo team with a score of 33 to 6 in a game played in the high school gymnasium Friday evening.

     There were few spectacular plays, and Union maintained a safe lead thorough the game. Yet they did not win without a struggle, for the Poulsbo boys put up a good fight.

     Noticeable improvement in the technique of the Union players was noticed by those who had witnessed them in action before the holidays, who expressed the belief that with more practice Coach McGinnes will have a team he may well be proud of.

     The lineup was as follows: Irving Miller, center; Henry Rudolph and Phil Hudson, forwards, and Arthur Waaga and Cal Hooper, guards. Subs are Chester McIlhaney and Dick Hall, forwards; V. Hayward, center, and Leo Lund and Howard Hughes, guards.

     The girls game that was scheduled to have been played Friday was called off because of the illness of several of the Poulsbo girls.
