At times, it seemed that Bremerton Knights couldn’t miss in the Olympic League game against the North Kitsap Vikings.

A steal or a turnover would begin a break on the Knights offense, and within a split second, Jalen Davis would jam one home, or Enoch Taylor or Junior Davis-McWhorter would sneak out on the perimeter and shoot one from mid-range or long distance and bury it, regardless of how many defenders were on them, if any one could.

The result was another league blowout as the undefeated Knights (4-0 league, 6-0 overall) routed the visiting Vikings 98-38. They almost hung 100 points for the second night in a row, hitting the century mark in a 105-6 non-league win over Clover Park.

The Knights unofficially were 38 of 62 from the field, shooting at 61 percent, as it seemed anything they put up, went in against the Vikings (1-2, 1-5).

It was like a neighborhood game at Sheridan Park, with everyone getting in on the act.

“This is coming out from after school shoot around, and everyone is locked in on shootaround, so it shows up,” said Jalen Davis. “Everyone comes out at practice and everyone is more consistent.”

“It’s what they grew up in, four or five games in a weekend,” said coach Miah Davis. “From game one, it was shaky, but by the championship game, they were firing on all cylinders. You can see it, like the state championship last year. They were built that way.”

Jalen Davis, as usual, led the way with 30 points before being pulled a minute into the fourth quarter, but his teammates got involved as well.

Enoch Taylor scored 16 points for Bremerton, scoring nine in the first quarter to get the game rolling.

“I told him, that’s how you play,” coach Davis said about Taylor. “Sometimes he defers more than he is aggressive. I told him, be aggressive like you were the last game. I believe in him like I believe in everyone else. Everybody has different qualities of the game, Everybody brings out who you are.”

Junior Davis-McWhorter and Aaron Matthews each had 14 points, with Davis-McWhorter getting 11 in the opening quarter. Matthews had 12 of his points in the second quarter, as Bremerton led 36-11 after one, and 53-16 at halftime, triggering the mercy rule clock for the second half.

“Comfortability is knowing the pass will be there,” said coach Davis. “Knowing the trust in your teammates is there, and is bigger than basketball.”

Bremerton will be busy over the holiday season, with games against Black Hills before Christmas, Kennedy after Christmas, and Eastside Catholic to start 2026.
