SOUTH SIDE HIGH TOO STRONG BASKETBALL
“We got it.” That was the message brought over on the Retsil launches by a lot of subdued high school student last night, and meant what happened the basketball game between South Side High of Port Orchard and Union High. To make more clear: “what was got” was defeat for Union, and by the score of 21 to 17. Union High girls club supporters had something more cheerful to tune up their school ballads over; something in the way of a 38 to 5 victory over girls of the Port Orchard district high school. The games were played on the Annapolis Athletic club floor, and were most interesting, if the one-sided manner in which South Side handled Union’s cagers permit such comment. In each and every department Union High was bonged in the play, leaving alone for their commiseration when homeward bound that South Side’s basketball fire this year in something no school need feel ashamed to being defeated by. Union High girls had some difficulty, but not enough to bother |
