UNION SCORES
     WIN AND DEFEAT

WINSLOW’S CELEBRATED HIGH
     SCHOOL FIVE BEATS BOYS,
     WHILE UNION GIRLS UPHOLD
     SCHOOL’S HONOR WITH A
     VICTORY

Two hundred and fifty Union high school students went to Winslow last night, where they saw their girls’ team defeat the Winslow team 30 to 10, while the boys lost a 22 to 11 score.

The girl quintet kept well ahead of their opponents practically all through the game.

The lineup was: Evelyn Aldrich, center; Dorothy Rudolph, side center; Tina Bailey and Edna Robinson, forwards, and Jennie Kenyon and Ruth Ring, guards. Eileen Beatty substituted for Edna Robinson, while Margaret Kenyon tol Ruth Ring’s place.

Miss Dorothy George of the University of Washington was referee, while Miss Loelin Gendron was umpire.

Mis Dorothy Little coaches the girls, who are turning out regularly and enthusiastically for practice.

Union boys have lost several of last year’s best players from the team and the fact that the floor at Winslow was much small than that in which they are accustomed to practice seemed to confuse them.

The boys team is made up of Irwin Miller, center; Phil Hudson and Harry Rudolph, forwards, and Larry Kelley, Leo Lund and Harry Hughes, guards.

Both teams are looking forward to the games to be played at Silverdale next week.

The steamer Tourist made a special trip for the game, carrying the players and rooters, and even the defeat received by the boys could not dampen the spirits of the expedionists.
