Viks Head North For PA Go
It's back to action for three of the county high schools as they break the holiday basketball silence tonight with screams and shouts from East, Central Kitsap and Port Angeles.
Port Townsend also returns to action against Auburn.
East Knights have a return match with Bothell Cougars in the Knight castle while CK Cougars host Sequim Wolves in an out-of-class Olympic league battle and North Kitsap Vikings travel northward to tackle Port Angeles Roughriders in class AA tourney trail tilt.
At East, Knights will be looking for revenge as Cougars came away with a 48-39 triumph in their first meeting this campaign.
COACH Les Eathorne's warriors go into the contest with a record of two wins and four losses. Knights are fresh from a 69-51 shellacking of CK.
Probably in at the opening tip-off for East will be forwards Jim Tainhaara and Mike Holen, center Darryl Fry and guards Greg Morrison and John Tracy. They will be up against a height disadvantage as the Bothellites present a front line of players 6-5, 6-4, and 6-2. Tallest Knight is only 6-2.
At Silverdale mentor Ken Lund sends his Central Kitsap Cougars against one of the top single A schools in the loop. Wolves of Sequim feature returning all-league Len Beil, currently the top point producer in the circuit.
CK has a 2-2 record going into the tilt while the Wolves are 4-2.
VIKINGS will be searching for their initial win of the season against the 'Riders. Neither team has managed to come up with a triumph along the AA path.
NK has dropped three AA encounters against West, CK and Shelton while PA has been on the short end against West and South Kitsap.
Port Townsend goes out of class to tackle Auburn of the Puget Sound league. Forces of mentor Ralph Bohannon stand 4-1 for the campaign.
Tomorrow night CK travels to Peninsula seeking a return victory over the Seahawks. In previous meeting, Cougars came out on top, 62-36.
