* Bremerton 71, Eisenhower 61, at Sumner — The running, pressing Knights forced eight turnovers in the second quarter and led by as many as 24 points in the second half in shocking the Cadets in the championship game of the Sumner Tournament.

Senior guard Jeff Gallagher led all scorers with 22 points and junior guard Everett Williams added 18 for the Knights (5-3). Both shot 9-16 from the field and spearheaded an aggressive pressure defense that forced 21 Eisenhower (7-2) turnovers.

"Our guards are as quick as anybody's," Bremerton coach Larry Gallagher said. "I don't think (Eisenhower) is used to" playing against a hard-press.

The Knights jumped out to an 11-3 lead before the Cadets battled to make it 13-11. Gallagher's three-pointer at the buzzer gave Bremerton momentum going into the second quarter. The Knights travel to Olympic next Friday.

* North Kitsap 60, Mount Douglas 37, at Victoria, B.C. — Three Vikings scored in double-figures as North won the Pacific Rim championship.

David Urban was the tournament MVP and Jon Lord, who had eight assists, also made the all-tournament team. The Vikings (5-3) play Port Angeles next Friday.

* Chimacum 51, Lakewood 49, at Blaine — Nick Dahl sank two free throws and Kyle Alm added another to snap a 48-all tie and lift the Cowboys to a third-place finish in the Blaine Holiday Classic.

Chimacum (2-6) led by as many as 10 points in the second quarter but couldn't finish Lakewood off until Dahl and Alm hit the critical free throws with less than a minute to play.

The Cowboys' Jake Johnson led all scorers with 15 points. His brother, Paul Johnson, added 13 and cousin, Tim Johnson, two, to give the Johnsons 30 of Chimacum's 51 points.

Chimacum lost the opener of the tournament late Friday to the Redmond JV, 58-47.

The Cowboys play a non-league game Tuesday in Chimacum against a touring Australian prep squad.

* Port Townsend 58, Charles Hays 32 — Abe Fox completed a stellar effort in the Clark Cochrane Christmas Classic, scoring 20 points as the Redskins improved to 2-5.

PT hosts an Australian touring team Wednesday.

* O'Dea 67, Sequim 35, at Sequim — The Fighting Irish used a dominating man defense and a 11-0 second quarter run to bury the Wolves in a non-league romp.

The Irish (7-1) got double-figure scoring from three players while holding the Wolves (4-4) to just 19 points over the first three quarters.

Things don't get easier for Sequim when it resumes Olympic League play next Friday at red hot Central Kitsap. The 7-1 Cougars have won seven in a row.

GIRLS

* Bremerton 77, Eisenhower 71 — Knights coach Doug Wagner was thrilled with the win, which pushed his team's record to 4-3 and netted Bremerton third place in a tournament at Sumner.

"We're real excited about this,'' he said. "A lot of things came together. We're pushing the ball up the floor real well and the girls were real tenacious on defense, getting a lot of turnovers.
