Knights lose to Wilson 83-63
Wilson 83, Bremerton 63 – Casey Lindberg poured in 27 points for the Knights, but it wasn’t a good night for the visitors. The Rams used a 24-12 edge in the third period to build a 15-point lead and although the Knights got it down to nine with six minutes left, just couldn’t get over the hump.
In the final minutes – in desperation time – the Rams piled on the points to make the game appear more of a rout that it really was.
“Right at the end of the third quarter they got a couple breakaways and scored eight straight points,” explained Bremerton coach Larry Gallagher of his team’s demise in that period. “That put us in a hole.”
Overall, though, Gallagher was please by his team’s effort. Although much smaller than the Rams, the Knights boarded much, much better in this one than they did Friday night against South Kitsap. Wilson Just had too many good basketball players.
“It wasn’t the lack of anything on our part, they were just a good team,” said Gallagher.
Gallagher singles out Lindberg, Keith Krell and 6-2 sophomore DeForest Phelps, who came off the bench and played well. “He did a couple of nice things,” Gallagher said. “He blocked a couple shots, played some good defense and got some rebounds.”

Bremerton easy victors
Bremerton 53, Vancouver Tech 18 – “This was a good confidence builder and gave us a chance to run our offense as it should be run,” Bremerton coach Doug Wagner said of an easier-than-expected game. “Everybody played, and played well. We were able to work on a lot of things.”
Missy Beard had 11 points and eight rebounds. Stephanie Watson had 10 points and seven board, and Monica Blye had 10 points for the Knights. Wagner said Marcia Blye, who scored only a point, did the “other things on the court” particularly well.
Bremerton, 2-1, has a return date Friday at South Kitsap. Non-league
